This week, I talk about my first sprint triathlon (yes, I’m hooked), my Arts Festival 10K rave, and being kidnapped and taken to Las Vegas for an early 40th birthday celebration. Andrew is the best vacation planner ever!

Again, congrats on your first tri, Allan! so happy for you!
Re: your sunglasses, for me personally, I prefer riding with me glasses, but I sweat like a pig. Then the sweat ends up getting on my lenses which drives me crazy!!
You may or may not have seen on Twitter, Bobby is doing the Vineman Ironman on Aug. 1st. I THINK (hope) I am going to go out. During the run leg, I think I am going to be running along with Bobby as a kind of pacer. So, I'm about to test that "it's all mental" theory. My long runs right now are about 15 mi., so it'll be a treat to see it I can crank out another 11.2 mi.! I'll keep you posted.
HAHA, you said, "naughty massage". That's funny!
Great show, as always!

P.S. Pretty sure you called me Brandon Smith at about 36:25 (HA!)
Yeah, I did. I'm a dumbass. Sorry about that. I did give you a huge shout out earlier in the show for being very supportive about the triathlon, so hopefully that makes up for it.
Wow it sounds like you had an awesome time (both numerical & enjoyment wise)! It was cool to hear that the prep you did on the transitions through watching videos & other people really helped out. I find that the whole visualisation – going through something in your mind – really helps me with running. Since you've gotten into triathlons & seeing your video, I've been imagining myself doing it, so I am working on that image as wel, haha.
The Las Vegas trip sounds sweet! It's so cool when someone organizes something so awesome. I'd like to go one day, but am waiting for lil sis to turn 21, so we can have all the fun. Really dorkish question, but do they have a CSI tour there? Haha.
Great show, it got me through my first long run in a while, by keeping me entertained and relaxed.
Oh and I was wondering how the Chia seeds are working out.
Hey Ruby. I haven't really been using the chia seeds. I try them now and again and they get stuck between my teeth and then turn to gel. I thought of trying to mix some with some water and Crystal Light Hydration mix so it has some flavor. Without that, the gel tastes kind of like slimy oatmeal. It's not unappealing, but while doing a big run, I could use a little flavor excitement.
As to your other question, I'm not a fan of the CSI shows, so we wouldn't have noticed a tour. They have plenty of other things to keep you busy (and get you to spend money) in Vegas, so don't worry!
What a great way to spend your 40th! Andrew is a really catch to plan such a great surprize. You went to so many shows while you were there also. Good stuff.
Yeah, he's awesome. I'm a lucky guy and he really knows what I like. He spent all of the money he made from teaching a summer course on this trip.
